(I'm going to punch Blogger soon for not letting me format this how I want...grr...it's only the last three photos that are of my room in Canterbury)
Here are some areas of my room at home, which is a permanent mess. One thing you should know is that I like stuff.
And a few of my room at uni last year...

Ooo I spies a lovely big field out of your window at home - I've got something quite similar :o)
Also about the format issues, I had a similar problem but I found if, when you're loading up a picture, choose 'No Layout' and you should be able to arrange the photos and writing more easily...I assume that's the issues you were having?
I think it must be a peculiarity to students that we like stick some much stuff to our bedroom walls - things that take our fancy I suppose its our way of stamping our identity on something somehow.
Looks lovely, Claire :o)
xx
I have very little on student walls :-) Something else I need to rectify, actually, but it stems from the fact that in my first term away I covered my wall in photos and was horribly homesick! And in our house we're also banned from using blu-tack, which doesn't help..
What I don't like about blogger: the inability to see blog whilst commenting...
I like the window, lovely view :D
Also, what I have found when peering into other people's rooms, is that I tend to focus on items that might be similar to me, I suppose that's true for life in general - searching for similarities, so one doesn't feel odd out.
I spy - pink plectrum (I have the same)! Penguin of death (<3 edward monkton stuff)! Willow Tree carved figures (I have an angel one!)
Bamboo shoot? Explain?
With regards to sticking stuff to walls, I don't tend to get round to it until about 3 weeks before end of term. By which point it's fairly futile...
Hannah: I shall try that next time, that was indeed the issue I was having! I did the sticking-things-on-walls thing long before I was a student tbh but it does seem to be a common trend. Exactly as you said, it's about making a space your own :)
Lucy: White-tak leaves less marks than the blue stuff and Dulux tester paint pots are god.
Flix: I had to go through my post again going "Pink plectrum? Where was that?!" etc. Amazing the things you cease to notice when they're there every day...
The bamboo shoot...think it's 'lucky bamboo' or something...Callan has one too, which is the background for his blog. Mine was from a garden centre, his was Ikea...they're great cos you actually can't kill them, and trust me...I am muchly skilled in the killing of houseplants...
